These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your download, installation, and use of the DoodleDoo mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not install or use the App.
1. License & Paid Software
DoodleDoo is a proprietary, paid software application. Subject to your purchase and compliance with these Terms, you are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use the App on personal devices for personal, non-commercial use.
If you develop custom minigames for the platform, they must be licensed under Creative Commons (CC) or an equivalent license if you intend to distribute them.
2. Nature of the Service (Important Alarm Disclaimer)
DoodleDoo is a utility application designed to assist with scheduling alarms and providing interactive wakeup routines. However, you acknowledge and agree that:
- No Guarantee of Awakening: We cannot and do not guarantee that the App will successfully wake you up under all circumstances. Factors such as system volume, Do Not Disturb configurations, battery depletion, OS background task limits, hardware failure, or heavy sleep can prevent alarms from firing or being heard.
- User Responsibility: It is your sole responsibility to ensure that your device is powered on, has sufficient battery charge, has its volume configured correctly, and is kept in a position where the alarm audio or vibration can be perceived.
- No Liability for Consequences: The developers of DoodleDoo are not liable for any consequences arising from missed alarms, including but not limited to missed flights, lateness for work, school, examinations, timesheet delays, or missing personal appointments. We recommend a secondary backup alarm for critical events.
3. Wake-Up Minigames & Device Safety
DoodleDoo includes active "minigame" options that require the user to successfully play and solve interactive puzzles (e.g. Math Quiz, Simon, Code Lock) to dismiss an alarm.
- Frustration & Safe Handling: Waking up can be frustrating. You agree to interact with the App and your device safely. Do not strike, throw, drop, or abuse your physical mobile device while trying to solve a minigame. The developers are not responsible for screen cracks, physical breakage, or device damage caused during wakeup frustration.
- Winnability: While games scale with difficulty, they are designed to be fully winnable. A timeout option can be enabled in settings to prevent being permanently locked out of your device due to game difficulty.
4. Custom Minigame Hosting
DoodleDoo allows you to add custom minigames by providing a Games Host URL in settings.
- Safety: You are solely responsible for ensuring that the URLs you link to are safe and free of malicious software.
- Hosting Costs: You are responsible for any costs associated with hosting your custom games on static servers.
5. External URLs
The App allows alarms to launch third-party URLs. You agree that DoodleDoo is not responsible for the content, advertisements, availability, or actions of third-party websites loaded via this feature.
6. Modification & Termination
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App (or any part thereof) at any time without notice.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
8. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE DEVELOPERS OR CONTRIBUTORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING IN ANY WAY OUT OF YOUR USE OF THE APP.
