At DoodleDoo, we believe that your morning routine, alarms, and personal schedules are private. This Privacy Policy outlines how the DoodleDoo application (the "App") operates and describes our dedication to protecting your privacy.
1. Privacy-First & Offline Storage
DoodleDoo is built from the ground up to be an **offline-first** application. All of your alarm data, schedules, active chime configurations, volume preferences, and game settings are stored directly on your physical Android device using a secure local database.
We do **not** run central backend servers to sync or monitor your alarms, and we do **not** collect, harvest, upload, or transmit any of your personal details, alarm labels, times, or settings. Your data remains entirely yours.
2. WebView & Minigame Sandbox
DoodleDoo allows users to select minigames to dismiss alarms. These minigames are built using standard, single-file HTML5/CSS/JavaScript and run locally within restricted on-device WebViews.
- Network Lockdown: WebViews hosting the minigames are heavily sandboxed. They have no access to external HTTP/HTTPS network operations, meaning they cannot make network requests or fetch tracking cookies.
- No File Access: The WebView sandbox blocks all access to the device file system, cookies, local storage, databases, and general device sensors.
- SDK Safety: The application injects a local bridge object (
DoodleWare) containing simple methods to read game difficulty and signal when the alarm should be turned off. No private data is passed through this bridge.
3. Device Permissions & Usage
To function reliably, DoodleDoo requests several standard Android system permissions:
- Alarm & Reminders: Required to schedule precise, granular alarms that wake up the system at the exact requested minute.
- Overlay Window (Draw Over Other Apps): Required so that the alarm ringing screen, the grandfather clock strikes, or the wake-up minigame can render on top of your lock screen or other applications when it is time to wake up.
- Ignore Do Not Disturb / Notification Access: Optional permissions that allow DoodleDoo to bypass system DND settings for high-priority emergency wake-up alarms.
All permissions are evaluated locally on your device. We do not receive reports or telemetry about which permissions are granted or denied.
4. Open URL Feature
DoodleDoo includes an optional feature that launches a user-defined URL when an alarm rings (for example, starting an online radio stream, launching a YouTube video, or opening a timesheet).
If you configure an alarm to open a third-party website, that website is subject to its own privacy policy and data collection practices. DoodleDoo does not filter, control, or log your browsing history or the URLs you configure.
5. Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed to anyone under the age of 13. Since we do not collect any personal data, we do not knowingly gather information from children.
6. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect modifications in the application's capabilities or operating system requirements. Any updates will be published directly on this webpage.
